     PEO clients: an
     independent survey

To better understand why more and more businesses are opting to utilize the services of Professional Employer Organizations, or PEO’s, a survey was funded with a grant from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The survey was designed to answer various questions concerning PEO services they utilized, their level of reliance on the PEO, their motivation for using a PEO, and their overall satisfaction with their PEO. 500 PEO clients participated in the study.

TIME SAVED
Almost 50% of the respondents reported they saved at least 9 hours per week, and 15% reported they saved over 30 hours per week.

MONEY SAVED
More than 50% of the respondents reported their PEO saved them more than $5,000 per year, and 25% reported they saved at least $14,000 per year.

68% reported their PEO saved them money
89% reported their PEO saved them time
86% reported they were extremely satisfied with their PEO
  PRICE OR QUALITY
69% reported that the PEO’s quality of services were most important
Only 31% based their decision on price. EXPERT

ADVICE
79% reported they value the opportunity to learn from their PEO
77% reported they listen to the advice their PEO gives them

TRUST
82% reported they strongly trust their PEO
77% reported they can count on their PEO to look after their best interests.


CONCLUSIONS
Clients are satisfied with their services, and expressed a high degree of trust. Most clients chose their PEO on perceived quality and not price. And most importantly, the overwhelming majority of clients have been able to reduce their costs, save time, and improve the performance of their companies by utilizing a PEO.
